i think this is a first, but i'm going to try it. i'm to use some more space, hopefully to make it a little more easier to read. let me know what you think...
my schedule is really kinda nice. first class on MWF is at 10, on TTu it's at 11...grin! little story about my spanish class...i was supposed to take a placement test over the summer so they could put me in the right class...only i kept procrastinating. i eventually did it on a plane flight from ohare to dulles, but forgot to mail it, so i took it with me on the rest of the way to germany. then i managed to miss the deadline and lose it somewheres (i think it's somewhere in my room, probably buried under something...) so i get here, and they had looked at my transcripts and placed me in an intermediate class. they wanted me to take the placement test anyway to make sure that i made it in the right spot, so i did, and got a HUGE headache because unfortunately, i don't remember a lot of grammar....but i went back the next day (twice!) to pick up the results, but they didn't have them. they told me to just register for the class that i think that i should be in...so i just registered for the class that they had already put in my schedule. i walked into my first class today (at 10...yeah! no early morning classes for me this semester!!) and discovered that (1) there are only 10 people in the class and (2) it's designed for students who grew up speaking spanish at home but who don't really know the rules or grammer. and since i am not of a bilingual/hispanic heritage, i don't know if it's the right class. 3 people ended up leaving to go reschedule a different class, so now we are down to 7. i understood everything that was going on, and i really really liked the teacher because it was obvious that he really really enjoys teaching, so i think i am going to stick with it. it might be my worst class, but if i enjoy it, hopefully it'll work out. lol. sorry, kinda a long story...
i'm not coming home until thanksgiving- it sounds like we don't have much time off. why do we have to go to school on labor day/all national holidays?? it's not fair i tell you!!
so basically i went to class, met my teachers, read the sylabus and went back to my dorm. took a nice long 2 hour nap before my roommate laura woke me up so i could actually make it in time for dinner. the sad thing is that i'm still tired. alas! off to read some of my new, really really expensive spanish book...
